Local Facilities and Attractions

• Grazer Burg, a castle dating back to the 15th century with an awe-inspiring stone double-spiral staircase. Apart from its chateau, which boasts an amazing architectural design, its large garden is a lovely scene to behold and a great place for relaxation in the heart of the city centre.
• Kunsthaus Graz (The Friendly Alien), an inviting architectural landmark exhibiting international contemporary art. The museum hosts some outstanding events and exhibits showcasing achievements in modern art, and projects by great and skillful artists.
• Murinsel (Island in the Mur), an artificial floating island linking the two banks of the River Mur on both sides. It has a great cafe where you can have some of the best coffees and cakes. Also at night, the island will be glowing with light, creating a beautiful sight to behold.
• Schloss Eggenberg, is a sumptuous Baroque palace complex with substantial scenic gardens, and a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The palace is surrounded by a garden, with a contemporary design, erected with the purpose of creating a harmony between the palace and its surroundings.
• Kaiser-Josef-Platz Market, the largest farmer’s market in Graz offering organic and traditional Styrian food. Even a simple stroll through the market can be the most rewarding experience for any visitor.

From there, the whole teeming-with-history city lies under your feet with sweeping views not found elsewhere.
