9 Major Glasgow Events to Expect in Summer and Autumn 2022

Summer and autumn can be one of the best times to visit Glasgow, as the weather is relatively warmer and ideal for all sorts of outdoor activities. Roger Daltrey will be in Glasgow on the 6th of July, as a part of his solo UK tour, performing in the SEC Armadillo. The show consists of both music and conversation, and the followers will get a chance to get familiar with Roger Daltrey’s musical journey, the way the songs were composed, and what followed.

Roger Daltrey is an English rock singer and songwriter, who has released 9 solo albums under his name. He has been also associated with the famous rock band, the Who, and has produced several albums with the band.

 

2. Brad Paisley Concert

The American country singer, Brad Paisley, is another great musician who will be in Glasgow during the summer of 2022. He will be performing in OVO Hydro on the 15th of July.

Over a span of 21 years, Brad Paisley has released numerous solo albums and has earned international recognition. He has had a lot of accolades, including three Grammy awards he earned for his three songs, “Throttleneck,” ”Cluster Pluck,” and "Letter to Me."

The tickets will be available for anyone over the age of 14, with those under 16s accompanied by an adult. The prices range from £40.95 to £66.50.

 

3. Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open (TGWSO)

2022 Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open will be held in Dundonald Links from the 28th to the 31st of July, the same venue that hosted the event in 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Another good news for music fans is the arrival of Coldplay in Glasgow on the 23rd and 24th of August 2022. As a part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which begins on 18 March in Costa Rica, the band have planned to be travelling to several countries until they reach the UK. They will be performing at Hampden Park while in Glasgow, in an attempt to make the live performance a platform for environmental awareness as well.

The well-known band was launched in 1996 in London, and ever since, they have won extraordinary acclaim and recognition across the music world. Multiple Grammy wins and nominations speak of the great success the band has had so far.

 

5. Sarah Millican Stand-Up

In her sixth international tour, Sarah Millican will bring her own takes on the hilarity of everyday life onto the stage. She will be in SEC Armadillo from the 2nd to the 3rd of September, with tickets available for everyone over the age of 16, with the price of £31.20 per person.

Sarah Millican is a British comedian, who has done multiple stand-ups since 2011. You might know her from her recurring appearances on TV shows such as QI, and 8 Out of 10 Cats or her work with BBC Radio.

 

6. Andrea Bocelli Concert

On the 20th of September, the acclaimed Italian singer and one of the most well-known musical artists in modern history, Andrea Bocelli, will be performing in OVO Hydro, bringing the message of peace and fellowship through his greatest hits.

Born in Lajatico, Italy, the Italian operatic tenor is one of the most popular operatic voices around the world, with several albums, and has been nominated for five Grammies. His voice is emotionally strong and truly captivating, and he has performed alongside the likes of Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion and many more.

The ticket prices range from £63.65 to £154.45 with more expensive VIP packages also available.

 

7. Professor Brian Cox Arena Show

OVO Hydro will be host to Brian Cox on the 2nd of October as part of his international tour called Horizons: A 2021 Space Odyssey. It is a journey into the origins of existence, how we came to be, and with the help of LED screens and other cinematic technologies, the show takes you to the farthest of planets and galaxies, answering questions on the nature of being and time in this giant vast ocean.

Brain Cox is a particle physicist and researcher, well-known for his works in various documentaries on space of physics, such as Horizen from 2005 to 2009, and BBC Planets.

 

8. Giants Live World Tour Finals

In a show that will test the power and strength of giant men, Giants Live World Tour Finals brings strongmen on the stage into Glasgow on the 8th of October 2022. The tour starts on the 28th of February from the Utilita Arena in Sheffield and after a tour of 5 cities, it arrives in Glasgow and then finishes in Liverpool.

It will have Britain’s strongest men such as Luke Stoltman and Mark Felix, competing for their place in the finals by lifting heavy weights, throwing giant barrels, and various other challenging tasks.

The event will be in OVO Hydro with tickets of £35.25 to £284.95.

 

9. Rod Stewart

The great Celtic fan, Sir Rod Stewart is in town, on the 29th of November, singing his most heartfelt songs following the release of his latest album, the Tears of Hercules. The performance will be in OVO Hydro, and he will be singing fan favourites from his long career, as well as some new songs from his new album.

Born and raised in London, Sir Rod Stewart is one of the best-known British pop and rock artists, amassing 31 studio albums and selling up to 250 million records worldwide. He was knighted in 2016 for “services to music and charity.”
