It was a beautiful cottage in a very nice area, it was out of the way but we loved how peaceful it was. The host was there to greet us when we got there and was very friendly and had made sure everything was provided for our stay. Also really enjoyed the hot tub.

The location was beautiful, the house was lovely. It was so spacious which was perfect for our family of 3 couples and a dog. We enjoyed the hot tub too. The fire in the living room would be lovely in the winter. Would definitely recommend

A lovely cottage in the middle of the British countryside.

It quite a relaxing place, clean and quiet for get away.

It’s a joint hotel cottage so have to drive a bit further on. Reception is in the hotel premise. Didn’t have a number to directly contact for issues but there wasn’t any issues.

Fantastic weekend stay, the place is absolutely stunning and set in very idyllic surroundings.

Always nice and toasty with the huge aga helping to keep the place warm and the hot tub in the private back yard area is a huge plus.

We had an excellent time at the property which spacious, clean and in great condition. Once the hot tub heated up (which took approximately 8 hours) it stayed on the entire duration of our stay, which was an excellent addition to the property.

Beautiful, peaceful stay. Didn’t see a soul while we were there. Close enough to the village for bits n bobs. Check in and out was easy. The house itself was very well presented, both of the bathrooms slightly let it down aesthetically but certainly wouldn’t stop me visiting again

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful and remote part of the countryside. Cottage was very comfortable and more spacious than we had expected. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival and the jacuzzi was brilliant.

One slight con I thought I should mention. The tap water is not drinkable, a water keg is provided but thought this should be mentioned in the advert.

Das Cottage liegt ruhig und privat, hat äusserst viel Bewegungsraum mit eigener Terrasse und ist schön eingerichtet. Netter Kontakt mit unkompliziertem Check-In.
Vielleicht lag es an unserer spontaner Buchung, aber leider sah es aus, als hätte seit Wochen niemand mehr geputzt, die Küche war staubig und die Kaffemaschine unhygienisch schmutzig.

We had a lovely last minute 3 night stay at the cottage. The aga was on and hot tub ready to use on our arrival at 5pm which was great. The cottage is beautiful and a really good size. The hot tub was fabulous but unfortunately it was storm babet over our weekend and i wish the hot tub was covered as at some points we couldnt use it due to the weather. We lost power on the Saturday night for around 4 hours but the aga stayed on so we could still heat food and it made it a bit of an adventure with the kids playing boardgames by candlelight. The local shops were really helpful which was great. The only other downside was the tvs need you to have your own paid accounts such as netflix to work. We have a freeview box and firestick at home which we would have brought had we known but meant the kids couldnt watch tvs for the duration which was a pain. Other than that though it was a great few days away and would definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved our stay here - will definitely be back! We really enjoyed the hot tub, was great that it was literally right outside the door! The feature fireplace was spectacular and was good to have two living rooms as well as the kitchen/diner. The bedrooms were all spacious and well laid out. Great to have the hotel right next door as well for coffees, lunches etc. The staff we met on site were so lovely and welcoming. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Spacious, well equipped cottage in a peaceful setting. The nearby town of Alston has a few eateries and pubs, although it's worth phoning ahead to ensure they are open.

Incredible stay for my mums 60th, even though we had a power cut everyone was so helpful. The cottage was gorgeous and so clean and we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.

The cottage was in a beautiful location with lots of walks nearby. It was warm, clean and tastefully decorated. The hot tub was clean and well looked after, even having a covering for those rainy days, and there was wood for a fire. We were very happy with our stay for 3 nights and would definitely recommend to others.

A lovely, private, relaxing space which was ideal for a long weekend! A perfect location for a family trip. We would definitely return here.

Comfy and secluded cottage but with the local town close by. Host was brilliant and very responsive.

Overall, I had a great experience. The hosts were very responsive to questions and other details both during the booking process and throughout my stay. The cottage itself was lovely and spacious, with three double rooms, a single room, and a comfortable sofa bed that suited my group of six. Although the cottage is a short distance from the nearest town, it is easily accessible by car, and I highly recommend visiting Ashgill Force. 

The cottage was impeccably clean.
However, there were a few minor issues that can be easily addressed, which slightly affected the overall experience, the freezer in the fridge hadn't been defrosted. Fortunately, there was another freezer available. 

The hot tub itself was great, but the canopy covering it was not very clean and had some mold, resulting in occasional drips falling in. Additionally, the hot tub cover showed signs of wear. These issues could easily be resolved.

Despite these minor setbacks I would definitely consider returning in the futur

Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. Few negatives which was some damaged garden furniture, damaged sofa bed and the hot tub is missing its lid and cover but it still kept up to temperature. All in all had a fantastic stay at this accommodation and it was only an hour away from the Lake District.  Loved the open fire and the kitchen. TVs in ever room to keep the kids happy and the wifi was brill.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The attention to detail in the decor, the stunning views, and the cosy atmosphere made our experience unforgettable. Looking forward to staying here again.

Had a great time away with friends, kitchen was well stocked with many electrical appliances and tools.

Shower worked well and had shampoo, body wash and hand soap provided.

We enjoyed the hot tub, although it took a very long time to warm up on the first day.

Felt very safe being next to a hotel and other guest cottages, but very private and close to lots of walking spots.

The beautiful and cosy cottage, however, more than compensated for the lack of amenities in the town. The spacious rooms and well-equipped kitchen provided all the necessary comforts for a comfortable stay. And even though the town may not have many options for food and drink, there are still a few grocery stores such as Co-op and Spar where one can stock up before arriving at the cottage..

Lovely cottage but not without some issues.  Check-in process was OK but the photo-id asked for was never needed. Clean and warm cottage.  Nice kitchen. It had an Aga, yet there were no trays or dishses to use with it (although they were provided when asked for).  The kitchen cooks knives couldn't have been blunter which made meal prep a task. The main bathroom was superfically lovely but on closer inspection it a patchwork crude repairs.  Great water pressure in the main shower, almost none in the second.  Beds were comfortable.  Nice towels provided. Good hot tub, but if felt a bit "plonked down" in the court yard - some decking to aide with entry and egress and perhaps somewhere to set our (plastic glasses) would have been welcome.  Open fire was welcome. Enjoyable stay overall.

Our stay was incredible! The cottage was so perfect for our group, we went with 7 and it was lovely and spacious! We thought it was priced very very reasonably too! We want to book again!

Absolutely a great place to stay but didnt realise how close to hotel we were or the other cottages . Great rooms and views very warm, aga took some getting used too but was an experience!
Didnt appreciate the hot tub guy just randomly letting himself into the patio area, as he couldve waited till we checked out.

Just came back from a lovely cottage stay. 
Everything was great hot tub private and area is peaceful. 

I didn’t receive the email where it explained what the code was for the key box so on arrival I had to get pop into the hotel next door to ask. The WIFI and tele was poor our children were unable to watch tv most of the time. 

Apart from that everything was nice thank you!

We had a lovely stay at Colleton cottage, Na’Lm Anis was so responsive to my queries and gave perfect instructions on how to check in and out. The rooms were so well decorated and the hot tub was gorgeous. It’s such a beautiful spot and we had such an amazing time. Will definitely consider coming back and would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Alston.

Had a lovely stay at the cottage. Very comfortable and enjoyed spending time here. The walk along the nearby river is beautiful and also in a great place to drive to some bigger attractions in the Pennines. Host was very helpful and responsive to our questions. Only note would be that the Aga could use some clear instructions for those who are not familiar with them and kitchen could be a bit better stocked as there were a few things we could have used such as some larger bowls for salad, baking sheets, tin foil, tea towels, decent knives as the ones there are quite dull and the ends are broken, etc.

The area and cottage was absolutely stunning. Me and my partner had the best romantic weekend away,  we'd definitely book again but bring our two children and doggy next time. Thanks for a wonderful

Beautiful stay with our friends over the weekend, the place was spacious,  lovely, clean and modern. 

The host was responsive and gave clear instructions to find and use the pace. We had a welcome pamphlet with extra info and the house came with tea and coffee supplies which was very appreciated! 

We would recommend this to anyone wanting to explore this stunning countryside, there is a nearby town we used to get some coals and have a bbq and use the hot tub outside which was perfectly clean and so warm! There’s plenty to do and see here and although we didn’t utilise the nearby bistro in the hotel, it looked like a great menu. 

The beds were comfy, the showers warm, the fire was cosy! 

the only small thing I’d ask to the hosts is to provide more towels for the hot tub use if possible! Other than that a perfect stay!!!

Easy to access, clear instructions, nice and warm! The only downside was that the hot tub wasn’t ready for arrival, we had to wait a few more hours before it was warm enough, and we were only staying for one night so we didnt get full use of it.

We had a great stay at Colleton Cottage. The cottage was very clean and felt very cosy. I had read previous reviews that mentioned WiFi issues but everything was perfect for us with no problems here. Also read about the hot tub not being on but we just dropped the host a message to request that it was on/ ready for our arrival which they were more than happy to accommodate and sure enough if was ready to go when we got there. The amenities are great with everything we needed in the kitchen to cook breakfast & dinners. The main cooking appliance is an AGA 4 door oven which we had to read up on how to use, however if you don’t feel comfortable with that they have provided alternatives in an electric hob & oven which we thought was very considerate for guests. There are TV’s in every bedroom and the living room. With them being smart tv’s you get access to all the Apps (Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.) there is even a laundry space if needed. We had a lovely stay, only wish it was longer.

Only had two issues one was the fridge freezer wasn’t working and the hot tube could do with being cleared better other than that it was great

Lovely stay at the cottage - everything as described and very clean! Good amount of space for 8 guests. Hot tub was great!

Beautiful location. Lovely bungalow. Great hot tub. Cosy Aga, which we used to cook on and to dry clothes overnight. 
     No internet locally for the three days we were there. No TV, no radio, as they were linked to the net and no DVD player so the (emergency) DVDs we’d brought were useless. Mobile signal locally is intermittent to say the least. 
     Host refused to send passcode until the day of arrival but as the net was down we received no welcome email and couldn’t get in. Lovelady Hotel staff were superb. 
     House needs a bit of TLC as some odd anomalies; mould in the sealant in the bathroom and dark marks on some of the curtains. Pillows excessively plump so if you’re a fan of a flat or a low pillow bring your own.

We had a great time at the cottage, it was so cosy especially with the fireplace and AGA. The place was clean and tidy and in a beautiful location. The hosts were really quick to reply when we had questions. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful house, hot tub is a big plus, great views

The Cottage was amazing. loved the large space.  Great when you have 3 kids. First time cooking with the big AGA which was surprisingly easy to work with. Hot tob was great. Having g access to the coffee shop at the hotel was also a bonus. if you are looking  for a get away from it all type of stay then this is it. Would definitely visit again.
