London

London is the largest city in the UK and as its capital, it is also the centre of government and monarchy. The Palace of Westminster is the seat of the parliament and with an age of over a century is a great historical attraction and an icon for the city.

London’s cityscape is one of the most famous for having some of the most beautiful landmarks. Big Ben, also known as Elizabeth Tower, is the clock tower at the north end of Westminster and is a cultural symbol of the United Kingdom.

The contemporary skyscraper, the Shard, is an extraordinary demonstration of neo-futurist architecture and is one of the tallest buildings in Europe. Because of its height and stature, it has been the location for many popular films such as Spider-Man: Far From Home. 

Canary Wharf is another popular area in London, housing numerous modern structures and buildings. On the South Bank of the River Thames, it is also easy to spot the London Eye, the iconic Ferris wheel that attracts millions of tourists every year.

 

Birmingham

The second-largest city in the United Kingdom is Birmingham, located in West Midlands County. Throughout its history, the city rose to prominence with the arrival of the Industrial Revolution and the rise of the entrepreneurial economy.

The city boasts some of the largest parks in Europe, with 3,500 hectares of land. Sutton Park is perhaps the most famous, being a national nature reserve. Birmingham Botanical Gardens is near the city centre, and it has a number of features such as a rock garden, pool, and several walks, most of which date back to the Victorian Era.

There are numerous architectural landmarks that would catch the eye of any artist. St Philip's Cathedral is an outstanding example of Baroque architecture, dating back to the 18th century, while part of Bullring Shopping Centre, known as Selfridges Building is a great presentation of modern blob style.

 

Manchester

Notable for its culture and architecture, as well as for sports and entertainment, Manchester is one of the most significant cities in the United Kingdom. For lovers of football, the city is most known as a seat of two great football clubs, namely Manchester City and Manchester United.

Due to the industrial history and culture of the city, there are numerous museums that focus on technology and machinery in Manchester. Museum of Transport, which is located near Manchester Fort Shopping Park, has a great collection of old vehicles of public transport that are well-preserved and on public display.

The city also has a lot of iconic buildings showcasing the city’s long and eventful history. 

Lancaster House is a Victorian mansion in a neo-classical style and is a popular film location. The Gothic Manchester Town Hall was also first opened in the 19th century, and its facade and interiors with statues and spiral staircases make it a great tourist attraction.
